Festival of Regions 2005
Saturday
Today I was visiting the Festival of Regions 2005 in the Mühlviertel (Mill Quater) in Upper Austria.
I left home in the early afternoon, and went through Scharten, Eferding, Aschach, Rohrbach to the village called “Schindlau”.

Some minutes before arriving in Schindlau this train crossed my way.

“Auf dem Hinweg” (Staged local portrait) – Residents of a small town will become participants in a big live performance whose subject is local everyday life. A tour for the public past mute actions: bicycle riding, taking the dog for a walk, shopping, meeting friends. On the streets and footpaths of their locality, more than one hundred residents will become actors. Social behaviour encounters its own performance. source:www.fdr.at
Finally I arrived in Schindlau at the regional development plan as a park of cottages.

In the cottage of the Kurvenwirt (curve landlord) I found this portait of him with an interesting story about his life and his restaurant and how he became really famous …

The “Maibaum” (May Tree) .... The project Test Field Mühlviertel 2010 of the Frankfurt artists’ group finger is based on the Regional Economic Development Plan for the Mühlviertel 2010. Six cottages represent its main foci, putting them into relation with the everyday lives of residents. The Test Field is conceived differently from the numerous homely parlours of the Mühlviertel as a place of the present that allows space for ideas for shaping the future in a constructive way.
